Planter Boxes
Late 2017?
I'll write more here later! The gist of this project is that you make a simple box with one side open, and then pass it through a band saw on each side at an angle of your choice. Doing so reveals the character of the wood on the inside. Using many-layered plywood gives the impression of a fancy striped design. Although this particular design looks octagonal, it is made using a square box and a series of 45 degree cuts. Other fancy ideas include starting with a hexagonal shape - I made a few candle holders using this design that I'll try to dig up pictures of. Drilling holes in the bottom gives a ready-made planter box for small plants!
